Two Owls of Exhaustion

We parked at the kayak spot the one little lot off Jefferson across from some trailer park. On slick walkways we trecked, on to the bridge. The sun kissed the snow and ice covering the little channel and just sparkled. Bringing magic to the trail. Last time one of us were here we heard the owl was near this area so we went trekking in the back flooded areas. Most of it was blocked off this past summer due to the water being so high. The river was to the woods, and the normal relaxing and photo spots have been drowning in water.

With the snow, we are able to walk that way and check how high the water went. We walked, and ran into the large tree. i
It's a huge tree that is slowly falling apart. Many photos have been had here. Still no owl or any sightings of anything yet.  So we kept it moving, walking on some of the first foot steps next to some skier trail.

When we kept walking the sun would peak in and out. It was mostly out that day, and it made it for a wonderful day. We kept looking up into the trees-- where is our owl?

The sun was starting to set and we were starting to lose hope. Already over half way and nothing was there. We stopped by our little log pile, sometimes we can get lucky here. But so far we have only seen blue jays and downy wood peckers. We didnt see the owl at his home and we didn't see him in any other spots. We have exhausted our options. He is up there laughing at us, I just know it.

OWL! OWL! As it quietly flies above our heads without making one noise. Man, how can something so large fly so gracefully and with that quickiness? What an amazing bird. We watch and see it off in the distance, it did land way back by the setting sun.  Jacki stated "owl! The other one." She sees it perched in the tree.  And yes she/he is about to fly as they are right over our heads. I get this shot and the flight shot with my phone. I know better, I know better.

Ha ha - You were right Pril - he was like when the locals watch the tourists and don't help them out any!
